Environmental Remediation – WesPac Energy, LLC purchased a Fe300 Ferrator from FTT for $1.1M, which was then installed and operated at Lake Apopka – one of Florida’s largest dead lakes. This State sponsored trial showed that Ferrate treatment could successfully remove phosphorus, ammonia and toxic metals from dredge waters. This project led to a Phase 2, $5.9 million RFP in which FTT was selected to provide the water treatment component. This project is currently in design and operations are underway. Furthermore, Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection has also awarded FTT a sole source supplier status on a separate contract to demonstrate phosphorus removal at Lake Okeechobee, Florida’s largest lake and a primary source water feeding the Everglades. This project is scheduled to start in 2017.
