Florida Drinking Water Plant Breakthrough
Recently, a study was conducted that proved Ferrate could eliminate five treatment processes at a Florida drinking water plant. Ferrate can replace the up-front treatments such as chlorine, sodium permanganate, alum, sulfuric acid, and granular activated carbon filters. This would result in a net annual savings of $57,676 in chemical and maintenance costs, which would be a 73% cost reduction. While achieving superior disinfection, Ferrate prevented the creation of harmful trihalomethanes (THMs) and haloacetic acids (HAA5s) while removing the odor and color from the water.
Ferrate achieved superior treatment with lower chemical and maintenance costs.
